About Us

Owner/Manager Sarah Short is a life-long animal lover and has shared her life with dogs, cats, horses, and a variety of other animals. Currently, she has two dogs and four cats.
From 1997-2006 she volunteered at Save the Animals Foundation in Cincinnati Ohio. STAF is a non-profit, no-kill shelter run completely by volunteers, receives no government funding, and has a current population of over 600 dogs and cats. She gained extensive knowledge of dog and cat behavior, breed characteristics, dog handling skills, medical procedures, and shelter management during her days at STAF.
In 2006, she attended the Lang Institute for Canine Massage in Loveland, CO. The 682-hour course of study included: canine anatomy, physiology, orthopedic pathology, structure and movement, disease and hygiene, nutrition, breed standards and characteristics, and a hands-on practicum of massage techniques.
Sarah has also been trained in dog and cat grooming as well as dog and cat CPR and first aid.
All staff employed at Las Vegas Zen Dog has knowledge of and is trained in dog and cat CPR and first aid, breed characteristics, and dog pack behavior. The Zen Dog team members and groomers are experienced and are hired based on their love of animals and professionalism.
